Summary (500 words) Last week, the Capenergies team set off to Marseille, cameras in hand.
As part of the promotional videos for the GARDEN project, we decided to spend a day with Livrazou, following their operations to capture impactful footage. Beyond producing engaging visuals, this was also an opportunity to gain insight into their work and introduce the project to all the teams present at the pilot site.
A truly inspiring day at Livrazou’s pilot site!
Detailed content LIVRAZOU: A PILOT PROJECT IN MARSEILLE

Livrazou, the pilot beneficiary, is located in Marseille’s 15th district, part of the so-called "northern districts" of the city. This area is home to a third of Marseille's population, with half of its residents living below the poverty line. As a territory in urgent need of transition, Marseille is actively working to significantly reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The city is part of the NetZeroCities initiative (EU Mission: 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030).

The GARDEN project aligns perfectly with this ambition, accelerating a flagship initiative to support Marseille’s climate objectives while engaging local stakeholders.
Livrazou’s core mission is to facilitate short supply chains between producers and consumers, specifically for last-mile transport.

The initiative was launched by five key social economy actors: Fab’Lim, Pain et Partage, la Plateforme Paysanne Locale, Les Alchimistes, Les Paniers Marseillais, and Manger Bio en Provence. It also plays a key role in a purchasing group designed to provide residents of priority neighborhoods with access to high-quality, organic food, stored at Livrazou’s facilities.
This collective of stakeholders aims to pool their logistics solutions to enhance short-circuit distribution between producers and consumers. The initiative began with a shared warehouse in Marseille, where the GARDEN pilot project will be based. Within Livrazou’s shared fleet—comprising bicycles and diesel vehicles—a retrofitted diesel van will be selected for the pilot.

Livrazou is currently facing new challenges due to the expansion of Marseille’s low-emission zone (LEZ) in the city center. To comply with new regulations and contribute to carbon reduction, the project seeks to decarbonize last-mile logistics.

THE PILOT PROJECT WILL INCLUDE:

✅ A 22 kW charging station
✅ A retrofitted light-duty diesel van

The van, already owned by Livrazou, will be made available to additional stakeholders beyond its current user base. The charging station will also be accessible to various electric vehicles, with a primary focus on the retrofitted van. Instead of a traditional charging post, we are considering an external wall-mounted station for practical and operational efficiency.
