The Organization for Local Development Heraklion S.S.A. is making steady progress in implementing the GARDEN project in Heraklion, which focuses on promoting electromobility in the logistics of the Heraklion’s Central Food Market (AGORA).
New meetings with local stakeholders, involved in the project, are in progress. We are currently in close collaboration with the Municipality of Heraklion to prepare the designated location within the AGORA, where the electric vehicle (VAN) will be stationed and where the charging station (at least 22kW) will be installed. This area is the central hub for food logistics in the city, and the intervention aligns with the Municipality’s Master Plan for sustainable urban mobility and aims to consolidate a culture of cooperation among the businesses operating in the Heraklion’s Central Food Market
At the next session of the Board of Directors of the “OFLD HERAKLION S.S.A”, the public procurement for the purchase and installation of one (1) electric van and one (1) charging station, is expected to be approved. This marks a significant milestone in the implementation process and confirms that the project is on the right track.
Moreover, the OFLD HERAKLION S.S.A.(PP9) is actively preparing to host the next Steering Committee meeting, which will take place in Heraklion on 19-20 of June 2025. We look forward to welcoming all project partners and facilitating a productive and inspiring event.
Finally, next week we are ready to sign a contract with the selected provider who will deliver the communication supporting services for the GARDEN project on behalf of our company “OFLD HERAKLION S.S.A.” This will enhance our outreach efforts and ensure proper dissemination of the pilot's results.
